I have finally decided exactly what I am going to do for this project. I am very excited about it! I am going to be doing double exposures contrasting nature over man-made scenery. I am contrasting these things because I want to create a dialogue about man taking over nature and soon possibly destroying it altogether! I love this idea and I am very excited to create it.
I found inspiration from some artists I found that create some amazing double exposure works.
However, I am having a hard time finding well known artists (I'm finding most of my inspiration on tumbler) that do the type of work I want to do. It is kind of tough doing this kind of research without knowing many people who do this kind of thing. A lot of the artists I have found are doing multiple exposures with people and landscapes, but I don't really want to mess with that too much for this project, I think I will somewhat, but I want to focus more on landscapes and sections of those landscapes.
I am planning to go out and shoot some stuff this weekend and I couldn't be more excited about it. I am ready to get to work on this project and my creative juices flowing!

I am having a hard time figuring out what I want to take pictures of for my double exposures. I would love, love, love to take pictures of city at night verses city during the day, I will probably test it out soon to see if it will even look good.
Another idea is having a nature shot with a city aspect with it, such as the first example I had in my last post (The wheat over the brick wall). I have all these ideas floating around and I am having a hard time settling on one thing. I also have to work with the surroundings I have, and honestly, I kind of hate taking pictures of Ellensburg. I am just kind of bored with it. I need to look at things a little differently to try to get inspired.
I do know for sure that I am going to be doing double exposures for this project, I think they can turn out quite fantastically. I am excited to play around with them and make some beautiful art!

In my researching, I may not be able to afford a macro lens, but I am still in the process of figuring that all out. However, I am looking at other ideas if that one is not a possibility. I am looking into doing some double exposure shots. I have found many that really peak my interest. I think this would be an interesting project for this quarter. My heart is still set on macro, but I think this is something a little different. I need to figure out what I want to say with my story still. I am having a hard time with both macro and this double exposure idea to get a grasp of what the subject matter will be and kind of more importantly what the subject will be. Interesting creative ideas are running around though.
Here are some examples of double exposure ideas:
I would be shooting digital and doing this with photoshop.

I am really excited for this quarter and working on my portfolio. I have a ton of ideas floating around my head, but the one that is really sticking out for me right now is working with macro photography. I would like to focus on colors and textures. I still have a lot of research to do, but I feel like I might have a good start.
